Code Black 2009 Auditions for A & World
The Code Black organization will be hosting its
annual audition at two different locations this year. The audition camp
will begin on September 6, 2008 at Klein Collins HS in Spring, TX and concluding
the next day at Taylor HS in Katy, TX. Here is a breakdown of that
weekend's camp:
Saturday, September 6, 2008
Location: Klein Collins HS in Spring, TX
5:30pm-7pm - Registration
7pm-10pm - Dance Session w/ Corian
Ellisor
10pm-11:30pm - Flag Session w/ Allen Truong
11:30pm-12am - Clean up area by everyone
Sunday, September 7, 2008
Location: Taylor HS in Katy, TX
9am-10:30am - Dance Auditon
10:30am-12pm - Flag Session w/ Allen Truong
12pm-1pm - lunch
1pm-3pm - Rifle Session w/
Charles Williams
3pm-5pm - Sabre Session w/
Charles Williams
5pm-6pm - Audition starts
6pm-6:30pm - Clean up area by everyone

Code Black in DCI!
Several members within the Code Black family have
taken advantage of the summer of 2008 to march with many prominent drum and
bugle corps. Code Black would like to congratulate its following members

Code Black Clinic Update
The first masterclass of the new season will be
held on Saturday May 17, 2008 at
James E. Taylor HS in Katy, TX.
Registration for the camp will begin at 9:45am with the entire clinic concluding
at 5pm. This masterclass will be for those interested in either the A or
World guard or for those interested in a taste of the Code Black experience.

Code Black is Pleased to Announce Its Newest
Addition: Code Black Independent A!
In addition to Code Black Independent World, the
2009 season will mark the premiere of its new sister guard,
Code Black Independent A!
The new program will compete in the TCGC and WGI A Class Division as well as
performing at all competitions in junction with the World Guard. This move
forward is one that have been in talks for quite some time and has finally come
to reality to build upon the growing family of Code Black. The first
rounds of Masterclasses will be open for anyone interested in both the A and
World guards. The first Open Gym for the 2009 season will be held on
Saturday May 17, 2008 in the
Houston area.

Code Black Clinic for the 2009 Season
In gearing up for the 2009 audition season, Code Black will be hosting
their first Open Gym on
Saturday May 17, 2008 in the
Houston area. The "open gym's"
overall intent is to expose the student to the choreographic styles of the
choreographers as well as the technique principles that is used in Code Black.
Every auditionee is urged to attend the open gyms and masterclasses as it will
help familiarize you to what is to come at the audition process in September. For

Code Black Places 12th in WGI World Finals!
Upon coming from a triumphant 2007 season, Code
Black has made its transition into the world class a success. After a stunning
preliminary performance in the UD Arena, the men and women of Code Black have
made their statement amongst their peers. Through much hard work and dedication,
the team has achieved one of WGI’s most highly regarded finalist positions. In
another most miraculous feat fellow Independent Open medalists, Fahrenheit and
Zydeco, have also made a powerful mark into the Independent World class and gave
the audience a show to remember. Congratulations to all of the finalists for
making 2008 an unforgettable season!

Code Black Achieves Non-Profit Status!
Through much patience and dedication, Code Black
has finally achieved its status as a non-profit organization. All finances
flowing in and out of the organization are managed by a 3-member board of
directors and facilitate in relieving the expenses of circuit costs, travel,
uniform, gas, etc. The amount it takes for a unit to compete on a national
level is tremendous and all contributions go directly in helping offset these
