After losing Philadelphia to the British during the American Revolutionary War in the fall of 1777, General George Washington set up an encampment at Valley Forge to prepare for the winter’s fury. The weary troops were poorly fed, ill-equipped, and riddled with tattered uniforms, leaving them exposed to the harsh weather and susceptible to sickness and disease. Despite the tough winter and deplorable conditions, the resilient troops maintained their spirits and sought the help and training of their allies to help push the British troops out of Philadelphia the following year. Although the war would last another five years, a significant victory had been won – a victory not of weapons, but of will.

The “Winter at Valley Forge” is the ultimate parable about American fortitude and perseverance. Join the members of Code Black as they explore this important moment in history and remember the determination of those who fought so hard to gain independence.

“Second Chance” auditions a success!

We would like to say thank you to all of you who joined us today at the audition! Those of you returning have made some INCREDIBLE improvements from just two weeks ago, and those of you here for the first time did a wonderful job.

E-mails will be sent no later than Wednesday, so keep your eyes out for a message from codeblackwg@yahoo.com. If for some reason you do not get an e-mail, please e-mail us immediately.

**IMPORTANT**
If you were at the first audition and did not attend the second audition but wish to still be considered for a spot, e-mail us NO LATER THAN TUESDAY, OCT. 5 letting us know if you have not already done so.

It’s going to be a great year! Keep up the hard work everyone and we look forward to meeting the official cast in TWO WEEKS!
